Adelaide and South Australia
Adelaide is the capital of South Australia, one of the most beautiful cities of the country,
carefully preserving the old colonial architecture. The city was founded in 1830 and named
after the wife of the King William the IV. Adelaide is a very green and cosy city, with the
lace decoration of the old pubs and charming old churches and cottages. Adelaide became
world famous because of the unique nature sanctuary Kangaroo Island, which is the real
heaven for the ecological tourism.
Most of the territory of the state is covered with
deserts; its climate is continental, with big gaps between the day and night temperature.
